In this section, you’ll learn about the fundamental aspects of safety on the roads. These are otherwise known as the three E’s: education, engineering, and enforcement. You’ll also learn all kinds of interesting laws that you’ve heard on the news that usually get people in trouble, like texting and driving and leaving children and pets inside of cars. It’s important to know your state’s driving laws because it can save you a traffic ticket and even a life.
Chapter 3: Impaired Driving
Impaired driving doesn’t only mean drinking and driving. It also means driving under the influence of drugs, even prescription drugs! Your physical health isn’t operating regularly, so your ability to drive safely is also compromised. In this chapter, you’ll learn about drugs and alcohol and how the amount of drinks affect your BAC levels.
Chapter 4: The Impact of Emotions on Driving
Physical health isn’t the only thing that impacts your driving. Your emotions play a big factor, too. Learn how stress, fatigue and emotional distress affects your overall driving attitude. You’ll also learn about highway hypnosis and other interesting emotions that influence your driving.
Chapter 5: Vulnerable Road Users
Do you know what a vulnerable road user is? It sounds funny, indeed, but it’s important to understand who these are because you’re one of them! Pedestrians, bicyclists and senior drivers are all considered vulnerable. Find out how and how our typical compact cars are considered vulnerable to semi trucks. Learn how to drive safely around them and how to share the road. This is a defensive driving course after all!
Chapter 6: Defensive Driving Skills
Last but not least, you’ll learn defensive driving skills through fun videos and interactions. These skills are necessary for every driver since you can’t control the behavior of other drivers. Distracted drivers are everywhere, so it’s important to learn how to become a better defensive driver. By becoming a proactive driver, you’re becoming a smart driver.
