If you’re a senior, you can take this course to reduce your car insurance premiums. Even better, the State of Florida requires that your insurance company give you a discount. Your discount will typically last for 3 years as long as you don’t get a moving violation or are involved in a crash where you’re given a citation.
The discount varies by insurance company, so be sure to check with yours. Usually, the discount ranges from 3-10%. But this is a very affordable course, so you’ll more than make the money back from the savings alone!

It’s a minimum of 6 hours, but it is self-paced and you can stop and start anytime. You are encouraged to take your time to complete it.
Once you receive your completion certificate you will need to submit your certificate to your auto insurance company to get your discount. Check with your insurance company on how they would like you to provide proof of completion.
As soon as you complete the course, American Safety Institute (ASI) will email you your certificate, which will also be available for immediate download inside your account! If you would like the certificate to be mailed to you, they can mail you a hard copy for $5.95 and it usually takes 3-5 business days to arrive. Certificates are mailed the same business day if you complete the course by 2pm.
By completing this course, you can reduce your auto insurance premiums by up to 10% for three years. Contact your insurance company for more information. Florida drivers who are over the age of 55 are eligible to take this course for an insurance discount 1 time every 3 years.
