You must be at least 15 years old to take this course.
When you are 15 years old, apply for your learner’s permit and then register for the Joshua’s Law Driver’s Ed course. You will not be able to upgrade your Class CP (Instructional Permit) into a Class D Provisional Driver’s License until you are 17 years old and have held your permit for one year without violations and have completed the driver’s ed program. Georgia law only allows online traffic school courses to be taken for ticket dismissal if the presiding judge grants permission. Since this is done on a case-by-case basis, you will need to contact your court to ask if they will approve the course for ticket dismissal.
No, the Georgia DDS office will not accept this course to remove points from past citations that have already been assessed to your license.
