Ohio Online Notaries

If you can’t get verified through our website, you will need to have a notary verify your identity.

Notaries in Ohio

  • Prior to the pandemic (and once it’s over): We recommend that students visit their local library to find free notary services if they were unable to get automatically verified. You can view the libraries that offer this service by scrolling to the bottom of this page.
  • During the pandemic (while many services are limited/closed): You can find a notary in your area by clicking here to visit the state website and following the instructions under the search feature.
NOTE: You will only find their address in your area so you will need to find a way to reach out to them.

Ohio Online Notary – Is it an option?

Unfortunately, if you failed the verification process with us, you’re not going to be able to use an online notary because you need to go through a third party ID verification which will check the same things that we check. If you didn’t pass ours, you’re not going to be able to pass theirs. If this is still something you would like to try, you can visit the State of Ohio’s website to find an option.

IMPORTANT: Please note that to do this you will need to have the ability to video chat with the notary. They will still need to personally see you and your documents the same as if it were in person. You can use whatever device you have available, computer with a web cam, tablet with a webcam or your smartphone. Once you find a notary you would like to work with they will walk you through the process on what to do and how to do it. If you have not used your device for video chatting you might want to familiarize yourself with how that works on your device first.
