Changing your address online is the quickest and easiest way to change your address, but you should be aware that there is a $1 fee to do this (as of Aug 2018). For this fee, you’re required to use a debit or credit card which helps the post office verify your identity. After all, they want to make sure you’re the one who is making the change! As you prepare for or finalize a move, you might see a lot of companies advertising that they will change your address for you. Be wary! If you prefer to handle your business face-to-face, you can change your address by going into the post office and requesting a Mover’s Guide Packet. Inside the packet is a form you can fill out and give to the postal worker. In five business days, you’ll get a confirmation letter at your new address! Simple.
