Certificate Delivery

  • The certificate that, you as the student will need to bring to the Illinois Secretary of State’s office, is the certificate that is emailed to you from the email address from Illinois Secretary of State’s office and no other agency or company.
  • The students cannot bring their certificate to the DMV Office. 
  • 2COOL Traffic School will report your completion the same business day you complete the course to the IL Secretary of State’s office. If completed on weekends, we will report it the next business day.

Who Needs the Illinois Driver Education Course

Are you 18-20 yrs old and need your drivers license?

  • All 18, 19, 20 year-olds are required to complete a six (6) hour classroom or online adult driver education course before they can obtain an Illinois driver’s license, if the person has not previously held a driver’s license or successfully completed the classroom portion of a traditional driver education course.
  • The course must be completed within 30 days of the course start date per the Secretary of State.
  • A certificate of completion is only issued to those students completing the course who are at least 17 years 3 months old and under 21 years old.
  • Any issues regarding this provider may be directed to the Secretary of State’s Commercial Driver Training School Section (630-520-9314).

Rules & How the Course Works

  • The course is an 6 hr course offered online where you can take it around your schedule.
  • You have 30 days to complete the course.
  • The “End-of-Course” final exam can be taken online.
  • Pass the Final Exam with an 75% or higher.
  • You have 2 opportunities to pass; otherwise you will FAIL and have to pay for a new enrollment.
  • You must pass Personal Validation Questions in order to PASS.
  • We will report your course completion to the DMV for you electronically and issue your certificate SAME business day.
  • There isn’t a daily minimum time so you can take the course all in one day.

Is there a Final Exam?

YES.

  • The final is 20 questions and randomized
  • You must get a 75% or above in order to pass.
  • You only have 2 opportunities to pass (can’t fail more than 2 times)
  • **This is separate from the written exam you will take at a Secretary of State location.

Does the course have a behind-the-wheel requirement?

No.

Though it is recommended that you get some behind the wheel experience before your driving test. In order to obtain your license, the state will require you to take a road exam before obtaining your license.
