To obtain a learner’s license, customers must pass the Class E Knowledge Exam. The Class E Knowledge Exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions about Florida traffic laws, safe driving practices and identifying traffic controls. To pass, a customer must answer 40 out of 50 questions correctly, or score 80 percent.

Driver Education Traffic Safety (DETS) is a 6-hour course, approved by FLHSMV. This course is for any first-time driver under the age of 18. It covers important Florida traffic laws, rules of the road, and defensive driving strategies.
You can take it all online with us. Take it around your schedule and take breaks in between whenever you want. You can also take it wherever you want because our course is mobile friendly. If you have a smartphone, tablet or laptop, then you can take the course on there!
Our Florida DETS course runs for $34.99. But we also have bundles that will prepare you for the permit exam as well as including the permit exam itself if you’re under 18. Check out our teen bundle and adult bundle.
There are 40 questions and you need to get at least 32 correct to pass the test, which is an 80%. You are allowed a maximum of three attempts to pass the final exam. If you fail the exam on your third attempt, you will need to restart the course from the beginning. Additionally, if you fail any of the personal verification questions (PVQs), you will also fail the exam. Therefore, it’s crucial to choose your personal verification questions carefully. There is no fee for retaking the course.

Our course is designed to be 6 hours long per FLHSMV requirements in order to be an approved provider. However, since you can start and stop whenever you want, students tend to take an average of 7 hours. It also depends on your learning speed!
